The Express

WILLIAMSPORT - Albright LIFE Lycoming-Clinton, the area's only adult day health center, will host a combined session of its monthly caregiver support groups from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on April 17 at its facility at 901 Memorial Ave., Williamsport.

Tamara S. Bortree from the Greater Pennsylvania Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association will present "Know The 10 Warning Signs Of Alzheimer's Disease." During the event, she will explain the difference between the signs of Alzheimer's disease versus typical age related changes. She will also explain health conditions and other risk factors for Alzheimer's disease as well as the benefits of early detection.

Bortree is the family service coordinator with the Greater Pennsylvania Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. She graduated from The University of Scranton with a Bachelor of Science in Counseling and Human Services. A trained domestic violence/sexual assault counselor-advocate, she worked at the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV) and served as director of social services in a 120-bed skilled nursing facility.

She facilitates an Alzheimer's caregiver's support group and is also a family caregiver.

There will be no daytime support group in April. The group will resume its regular schedule in May. For more information, call Albright LIFE social workers Fran Decker or Molly Eisley at 570-322-5433.
