Applause!! Applause!!

April 14, 2012
The Express

The Express highlights people, groups and activities worthy of applause, each Saturday morning.

To the Jaycees... THANK YOU for the great dinner. We really appreciate it. Again, thanks.

- A grateful senior citizen

APPLAUSE to Larry Butler of Woodman Rural Life Insurance for donating a flag to Fulmers Personal Care Home.

APPLAUSE to the following people who made the first Jimmy Bressi Memorial Easter Egg Hunt a success, including Shelly Yoxtheimer, Gail Nestlerode, Rick Selfe, Gregory Smith, Michael and Suzanne Bressi, Patti Guinter and Jennifer Hoy. Also thank you to McDonald's and Burger King for coupons put in the eggs, and to Dean and Linda Wetzler and Michael and Suzanne Bressi for financial donations. Thank you to our supervisors, Clyde Glossner and Brian Hoy, for being there to show support during our first egg hunt.

- Marie Selfe, township supervisor and chair of the Egg Hunt and Riverfest

The Lock Haven Area Jaycees would like to THANK the community, along with the area businesses and individuals who donated to another successful Annual Radio Auction on April 7. We would especially like to thank Schlesinger Communications for the donation of its airwaves on AM 1230 WBPZ, and to Ron "Boomer" Brungard for being a guest auctioneer. We truly appreciate the community's continued support.

APPLAUSE to our pastor Richard Jones and his wife, Janet. Thank you for 16 years of faithful service to our church, the Jersey Shore Assembly of God, also known as the Assembly at Antes Fort.

- Your church family

THANK YOU to all of our friends and family for everything you have done for us over the past few weeks. These times have been so overwhelming and confusing and without all of you, I'm not quite sure where we would be. Thanks for the special fundraisers, food dishes, calls, prayers, cards, flowers, visits, yard work, house work and muscles hard at work! We love you all! For everyone, an update on Bruce's condition: After his third chemo treatment last Thursday, he had a heart attack. There is a blood clot in one of his arteries and the doctors are treating him with lots of medication and blood thinners. Unfortunately, he is not able to have surgery due to the cancer. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers during this challenging time! Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts!

- Brenda Fenstamaker, Lock Haven

Moose Lodge 100's Children's Easter Party was held on March 31. Thank you to Peggy Tressler and Edith Rocky for getting the event organized, and Faith Stepp and Jeri Wyble for donating six Easter baskets for door prizes, Jacqueline Herritt for making the Easter Wagon that was raffled off and won by Avery Kuntz, and to our volunteers and the Easter Bunny for making it such a success.

The Brownies No. 40172 and Daisies No. 40621 from Lamar Township removed more than 20 garbage bags full of debris from the creek bed along Route 477 in Salona on April 10. So many individuals and groups contributed to the safety and success of this event. THANKS to the hard-working volunteer parents who pulled out larger items, Lamar Township Police Officer Paul Gramley who volunteered his time on his day off to help with traffic control and keep all the children safe along a busy road; thanks to Adam Bechdel and Melody Wolford at PennDOT who provided donations of roadside traffic management signage materials and cleanup supplies to help make a safe, fun and successful creek cleanup event throughout a cold and rainy evening. Thank you for supporting the efforts to help Girl Scouts make a difference in the world. The Earth thanks you, too!
