JERSEY SHORE - A mother and her boyfriend have been jailed on a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly getting "high" on methamphetamines while taking care of the woman's two children, according to the Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police.
Tia Davidson, 29, and Timothy Lope, 27, both of 430 S. Broad St., allegedly had been "snorting meth" when officers responded to the property about 6:30 a.m. Monday to investigate a report of "a woman causing a disturbance," police said.
When the officers reached the scene, the woman reportedly causing the disturbance, Davidson, had "jumped from a second-floor window," landing apparently unhurt. The woman was placed in the back of a cruiser.
Lope was inside the house and appeared "highly under the influence and was not making sense in what he was saying," an officer wrote in an affidavit.
He had a boy wrapped in a blanket, police said. Davidson allegedly told police she had been "snorting meth" and that there were methamphetamines in the house. A second child also was in the house, police said.
Davidson is the mother of both children, who were turned over to a relative, police said. Officers discovered suspected methamphetamines in the bedroom, police said.
Lope and Davidson were arraigned before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley and committed to Lycoming Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail each.
