Betty Ruth Miller O'Con-nell, 83, of Rochester, N.Y. died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, after a very brief illness.
She was born in Flemington on July 22, 1928, as the only daughter of Jerry W. Miller, Sr. and Gertrude Bird Miller.
She is predeceased by her brothers Jerry, Frank, and Vernon; her husband, Joseph E. O'Connell of Lock Haven; her youngest son, Joseph T. O'Connell of Souderton; and granddaughter Colleen.

She is survived by her brothers Richard D. (Cheryl) Miller of Clarion and Robert W. (Diana) of Rochester, N.Y., and two sons, Daniel Patrick O'Connell of Keokuk, Iowa and Carl Edward (Suzanne) O'Connell of Rochester, N.Y.
Betty had five grandchildren: Sean, Carl, Eric, Colleen (deceased), and Rory (Erin) and six great-grandchildren: Ashlee, Gavin, Adeline, Reese, Avery and Liam.
Betty was a long-time resident of Lock Haven, a former employee of Addie's, Inc., an avid animal lover, devoted mother and grandmother, and real family historian who always persevered through very difficult times and helped bridge the gaps among distant relatives. She is already greatly missed by the people and animals she touched throughout her life.
A memorial service and interment of cremains will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Lock Haven, Pa. at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012. A luncheon follows to which family and friends are invited at the Dutch Haven Restaurant, 201 E. Bald Eagle St., Lock Haven, Pa. 17745 (570-748-7444).
