Emily Williams selected student marshal at PSU

LOCK HAVEN - Emily Williams, daughter of Kline and Lisa Williams, of Lock Haven, has been selected as the Student Marshal for Athletic Training at the spring 2012 commencement exercises of the College of Health and Human Development at Penn State.

While at Penn State, Emily assisted athletes at the Bald Eagle Area High School and at Penn State in men's lacrosse, men's and women's rugby, and men's and women's swimming and diving. She also assisted with a variety of Penn State sport camps, and she volunteered at Drayer Physical Therapy Institute, Susquehanna Health and Central Mountain Physical Therapy.

Emily is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association, and the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers' Association and she is a student fellow of the German Academy of Applied Sports Medicine. While at Penn State, she was a member of the Penn State Women's Club Soccer Team, the Schreyer Honors College Student Council and the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. She participated in THON and as a member of the Blue-White Society.

Emily conducted a thesis project, titled "Comparative Stability and Performance Outcomes Among Cryotherapeutic Interventions."

Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a Ph.D. degree in physical therapy at Old Dominion University.
