LOCK HAVEN - Applications are now being accepted for the Rich Ramm Memorial Scholarship until May 4.
A $500 scholarship will be given to a graduating senior from any Clinton County School or Jersey Shore Area School District (must be a Clinton County resident).
This scholarship is also available for present full-time college students. The student must be entered in or have been accepted into an accredited program in the field of agriculture. The scholarship will be awarded in whole, or in the event of a tie, the amount will be split between the winners.
Primary consideration will be given to those students who have continued to successfully challenge themselves throughout their academic years as indicated by course choice, grades, leadership and work experience. The essay required for the application will carry high importance in determining the recipient of this scholarship. Activities, awards and recognitions listed on the application will also be considered.
This scholarship fund has been established in memory of a local farmer, Rich Ramm, who died in 1992. Rich was an agronomy graduate and a strong supporter of conservation. His friends have donated money for this perpetual fund, administered through the Clinton County Conservation District.
Applications are available from the Clinton County Conservation District and from school guidance counselors. The deadline for applications is May 4. The award will be announced the first week of June.
Completed applications must be submitted to Clinton County Conservation District, 45 Cooperation Lane, Mill Hall, Pa. 17751. For more information, call Mary Ann Bower at 726-3798.
