Our elected officials always seem to fail us as citizens.
One April 2, I called about receiving an absentee ballot. It was stated to me that I had time and I requested one. Well, our officials did not mail it to me until April 11 and I did not receive it until April 17. With the deadline being close to the election, voter registration tells me I cannot vote unless I come in the courthouse. That is hard to do when I am working in Florida at the Boy Scout Sea Base and not returning to Pennsylvania until May 6.
I pride myself in voting and, due to the negligence of our elected officials, I will be unable to do so. In a presidential year when it is important to vote, you have taken that away from me.
It just makes me wonder why our elected officials are not more proficient. If it were a regular job, we would be terminated.
I guess I will just have to view my opinion next election when our county officials are elected.
I checked my cellphone and the date on it shows I called the courthouse on April 2. So, as I stated in the beginning, our elected officials failed the citizens again.
