The Express

FLEMINGTON - The Clinton County Chapter of Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR) will hold its Spring Luncheon at the Red Eye Center, Tuesday, May 15.

The business meeting will begin at 11 a.m. with the luncheon following promptly at noon. The menu features roast turkey, and the cost is $12 per person.

As part of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of PASR, any member turning 75 in 2012 will pay only $7.50 for the meal.

The afternoon program will include the announcement of the 2012 PASR Clinton Chapter Scholarship winners. The 2011 winners, Tyler Buckwalter and Kathryn Robinson, will address the group.

The featured guest speaker will be Lou Bernard, curator for the Clinton County Historical Society, who will give a glimpse of Clinton County during the years 1937 (when Pennsylvania School Retirees was established) and 1966 (the charter year for the local chapter).

All school retirees of the community are invited to attend the luncheon to learn more about the local PASR group and the services and support it provides, and also to join in the 75th anniversary celebration.

An invitation to the luncheon, as well as volunteer hour forms, are included in the May newsletter which was mailed or e-mailed to members Saturday.

Reservations must be received by Tuesday, and may be made by calling Carolyn Burrows at 962-3286.
