AVIS - Charlie Maxine Robinson, a junior at Lebanon Valley College studying sociology and sports broadcasting, is interning at ESPN Sports at Disney in Orlando, Fla. The daughter of Herschel Robinson of Avis and Mary Robinson of Newberry, Charlie is a 2009 graduate of Jersey Shore High School. She is the step-daughter of Denise Davidson of Lewisburg.
Charlie excelled at swimming at Jersey Shore High School and has continued to reach milestones in swimming at Lebanon Valley. In the fall of 2009, she made the Mid-Atlantic Conference championships in two events - 50 and 100 free - and moved up from "C" lanes to "A" lanes. The rest of the season she swam 200 and 400 relays and helped the team in both divisions at the MAC championships.
In 2010, Charlie became football manager and took photos for the ice hockey team. Once again she made the MAC championships in swimming and her relay team broke the school record in 200 relay. The relay team finished fifth in the 200 relay and seventh in the 400 relay to put Lebanon Valley on the podium.

And last year, Charlie again qualified for the MAC's in 50 and 100 free and also the 200 and 400 relays.
She didn't swim MAC this year because of the internship, which began on Jan. 7 and has been very exciting, providing valuable experience and opportunities for the future.
She's already worked with the Atlanta Braves, Detroit Tigers, New York Mets and Yankees in pre-season games. She's also worked college baseball games, and met the team from Michigan State.
Charlie has been approached by Disney to take a job there after she graduates from college in May 2013. She said she's considering that possibility along with the possibility of working at a television station in the Orlando area. One thing's for sure, Charlie said, she loves the Orlando area and wants to live there.
She is only the second student from Lebanon Valley to accept a Disney internship, which garnered 15 credits.
In August, Charlie will return to Lebanon Valley for her senior year and has already accepted the position of football manager.
Charlie has also been very active in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, participating in Relay events in honor and memory of her grandmother, Maxine Robinson, who died from bone cancer. As a matter of fact, in March, she traveled from Florida back to Lebanon Valley to swim during the college's annual Relay for Life.
