LOCK HAVEN - The Alzheimer's and Caregiver's Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Conference Room B of Susque-View.
Fran Decker, MSW and group facilitator will review the book Love, Laughter and Mayhem by Cindy Keith, RN, BS.
Keith is a certified dementia practitioner and owns a dementia consulting business, Mind in Memory Care, in State College. The book teaches caregivers how to interact with those with dementia and how to enter their world to minimize behaviors and improve quality of life for both the care receiver and the caregiver.
Her book is full of stories from her professional experience. The stories are used as a teaching tool. The book will be available for participants to review.
The support group is free and open to anyone who is caring for a patient with memory loss. Transportation to the meeting and sitter service for the dementia patient can be provided upon request.
