SPRING MILLS- The Centre Communities Chapter of the American Red Cross plans a blood drive from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday at New Hope Lutheran Church, 119 Cobblestone Court.
Central Pennsylvania is facing a shortage of blood and all eligible donors are asked to step up at this time, particularly donors with Type O blood.
Anyone 17 or older who weighs at least 110 pounds and is in generally good health may donate blood. Sixteen-year-olds may donate with parental permission. Donors are asked to bring photo identification.
Donations take about an hour. To sign up for a time slot, call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (1-800-448-3543) or go to www.redcrossblood.org. Walk-ins also are welcome.
