LOCK HAVEN - Three people suffered fatal injuries in two separate accidents in Clinton County on Saturday, one on Interstate 80 amd the other near the Centre County line, according to state police at Lamar.

Two people were killed in a one-car crash on I-80 in Greene Township at 12:18 p.m. Saturday, Tpr. Michael J. Flook said.

Mary Moynahan, 78, of Parsippany, N.J., was driving west on I-80 at about 65 miles per hour and rounding a curve, when her 2000 Honda Civic traveled off the road and crashed into a tree before spinning counterclockwise and crashing into another tree, Flook reported.

Moynahan and her passenger, Bartholom Moynahan, 79, same address, were pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt force head trauma, police said. Police did not say how the two were related.

Police were assisted at the scene by PennDOT, and Sugar Valley and Flemington rescue units.

Michael Spirko, 25, of Watsontown, died of injuries suffered in a crash on northbound Route 144 just short of the Centre County line in Beech Creek Township about 10:20 a.m. Saturday, state police said.

Spirko was driving at a high rate of speed, Tpr. Timothy T. Wright said, when his 2010 Hyundai left the road and crashed into several trees, killing the driver.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone who might have information is asked to call state police at 570-726-6000.
