LOCK HAVEN - City and Lock Haven University police responded to a gathering of between 100 and 150 people in the 500 block of West Main Street, at around 1 a.m. Saturday.

"There was a whole bunch of kids downtown," Det. Sgt. Charles Shoemaker of city police said this morning.

"There were between 100 and 150 people who tried to move a vehicle out of a parked area up onto the curb. The owner called the police, but there was no damage to it. The group then dispersed and that was the end of the incident."

Shoemaker said there were no charges filed.

Lock Haven University Director of Public Safety Paul Altieri said his officers were called to assist the city's police department for the report of a large group of students, trying to roll over a car in the 500 block of West Main Street.

"When we arrived, there was nobody trying to roll over a car, but there was a car in the middle of the road," Altieri said.

The university police returned from the scene at 1:50 a.m., Altieri said.

State police at Lamar also responded to the call.
