The owners of the Riverdale Mobile Home Park in Piatt Township should not be condemned for selling it to Aqua America.
The Susquehanna River Basin Commission approved the permit that sealed the deal. For the SRBC to be so openly biased against the general public only proves they foster prejudice. Those 32 families were at the mercy of the SRBC and they were intentionally deceived. River front property could be purchased at other sites along the river in this area, which are uninhabited.
The approval of this permit by the SRBC for a water withdrawal site was not only against the 32 families who reside in this trailer park, but it was against every inhabitant who lives in Piatt Township. Public relationships in Piatt Township were ignored while the SRBC exercised the dictorial power invested in them by our own elected governor.
Residents of this area should join together and express themselves, when a disservice is crammed down our throats such as this one was. Hats off for the letter, "Fracking causes eviction, too," by the Pennsylvania organizer for Food and Water Watch, Charles Kratovil of Philadelphia. As residents of Piatt Township, we are not alone in this state when it comes to claiming a disservice was committed against humanity.
