RAUCHTOWN - This year marks the eighth annual tractor parade sponsored by the Rauchtown - Nippenose Valley Lions.
The event continues to grow, and each year there are more tractor drivers registering and participating. In last year's parade there were nearly 40 tractors of all makes and sizes. Some were fully restored, while others were field ready.
This is one of three key fundraising events for the Lions. Along with the parade, the Lions will also serve breakfast and a chicken barbeque lunch. Profits from the event will benefit future Lions projects in the surrounding community.
The eighth annual tractor parade sponsored by the Rauchtown — Nippenose Valley Lions Club is slated for May 19, with the first group rolling out at 8:45 a.m. A?chicken barbecue also is part of the event.
The 20-mile tractor parade, scheduled for Saturday, May 19, begins at the Rauchtown Community Park on Route 880 and will tour beautiful Nippenose Valley. This is a rain-or-shine event. The first and slowest group of tractors will depart at 8:45 a.m.
A non-refundable entry fee of $25 per tractor includes a commemorative gift along with breakfast and lunch for the tractor driver. The ride is open to any full-size tractor, new, used or restored with rubber wheels. Farmers and tractor lovers alike are encouraged to register.
While pre-registration is appreciated, drivers are welcome to register the day of the event.
Everyone is welcome to come see the tractors at the park and along the tour route. Both breakfast and lunch at the park are open to the public.
