Woman accused of stealing

from senior's account

MONTOURSVILLE - A Clinton County woman has been arrested on charges of allegedly stealing $5,200 from the bank account belonging to the elderly mother of her boyfriend, according to Montoursville police.

Frances Marie Dershem, 53, of Avis, illegally cashed eight checks from Betty Iyler's account at the Montoursville Federal Credit Union, 999 N. Loyalsock Ave., between February and July 2011, borough police said.

Dershem was recently arraigned before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman on a total of 24 counts, including eight counts of felony forgery, nine counts of theft by deception and seven counts of receiving stolen.

Initially committed to the Lycoming County Prison, Dershem has since been released on $25,000 bail.

Thefts from vehicles

LOCK HAVEN - City police report several incidents of thefts from vehicles in the last few days:

r Two vehicles were entered between midnight and 6:30 a.m. today while they were parked at the rear of 38 E. Bald Eagle St., police said.

Two Garmin GPS units, a Nintendo DS with two games, a Droid cellphone and an unknown amount of money were stolen, with a total value of $1,120, police said.

Anyone with information on these thefts is asked to contact city police.

r Someone entered an unlocked vehicle owned by a 20-year-old woman while it was parked in the 400 block of Mary's Alley sometime between Monday and Thursday, police said.

A GPS, valued at $175, was taken from the glove compartment of the vehicle, police said.

r Someone entered a 2000 Volkswagen owned by a 24-year-old man, while it was parked at 107 E. Park St. sometime late Thursday or early this morning and stole a Kodak digital camera, valued at $150, police said.

Vehicle stolen

LOCK HAVEN - City police are asking for the public's help in locating a vehicle reported stolen sometime between 10 p.m. Thursday and 4:45 a.m. today in the 100 block of Vesper Street.

Stolen was a Subaru Impreza, two-door sedan, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.

House burglarized

LOCK HAVEN - City police are reminding residents to lock all doors and windows after a house was burglarized between 10:15 p.m. and midnight Thursday.

The house in the 10 block of Center Street was entered and a total of $350 worth of merchandise was stolen, police said.

Minor damage

LOCK HAVEN - No injuries were reported after a two-car crash on Bellefonte Avenue Thursday at 2:45 p.m., city police said.

Suzanne Beach, of Vesper Street, Lock Haven, was following a 2001 Plymouth NLX, driven by Korynn Brianna Campbell, of Gilbertsville, when both were stopped at Second Avenue for a red light, police said. The light turned green and Campbell started to move forward and suddenly stopped, causing Beach's 2002 Pontiac Sunfire to strike its rear, police said.

Minor damages were reported to both vehicles.

Street light broken

LOCK HAVEN - Someone broke the globe out of a street light in the 300 block of North Vesper Street sometime before 12:45 a.m. today, city police said.

Damage was estimated at $100.

Disorderly conduct

LOCK HAVEN - Two city men were cited for disorderly conduct after they were found in a physical altercation in the 300 block of North Vesper Street at 11:33 p.m. Thursday, city police said.

Cited in the incident were Derek F. Berry, 25, of 426 E. Bald Eagle St., and Tyler Phillips, no age listed, of 217 S. Highland St., police said.

Shoplifting alleged

WILLIAMSPORT - Christina Marie Bradley, 29, of 190 Harvest Moon Park, Linden, has been charged with felony shoplifting after she allegedly tried to flee Kohl's, 251 William St., with $242 worth of merchandise on May 1, Williamsport police said.

She already has two shoplifting convictions, police said.

Following her arraignment that day before District Judge James Carn, Bradley was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $2,500 bail.

Drunk driving alleged

JERSEY SHORE - Several local residents have been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances. Those charged and the police departments involved are:

r Corey Allen Stewart, 25, of 278 Main St., Salladasburg; DuBoistown police in the borough on March 4.

r Tammy Mitcheltree, 51, of 205 Harvest St., Linden; state police on Route 220 and Queneshaque Road in Woodward Township, Lycoming County, on Feb. 10.

r Jean Mosser Rombach, 65, of 104 Westside Road, Jersey Shore; state police on Route 220 in Porter Township on Feb. 5.

r Cathy R. Burrows, 44, of 145 Smith Court, Linden; Lycoming County DUI Task Force in the 200 block of West Fourth Street, Williamsport, on Jan. 28.

r William Joseph Bouse, 49, of 2119 Almost Country Road, Linden; DuBoistown police in the 500 block of Arch Street, Williamsport, on Nov. 23.

Animal nuisance

LOCK HAVEN - Paul Robert Gray, 21, of 815 Bellefonte Ave., was cited for animal nuisance Tuesday, city police said.

Police said Gray allowed his dog to bark in a manner that disturbed the neighborhood, after receiving a warning about the situation.

Criminal mischief

LOCK HAVEN - An attempt was made to remove a hood ornament on a Ford Ranger SUV Wednesday morning or afternoon, Woodward township police said.

Police are investigating the vandalism.

Hit-and-run

LOCK HAVEN - Mary E. Bilbay, of Avis, reported to city police an unknown vehicle struck her 2006 Toyota Camry LE while it was parked in the lot of Fox's Market House Restaurant on East Church Street sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 12:18 p.m. on Thursday.

The accident caused damage to the rear bumper and minor scratches, police said.

Sentenced in Lycoming Courts

WILLIAMSPORT - Several area people were sentenced recently in Lycoming County Court.

Three were sentenced to intermediate punishment:

r Dustin D. Keller, 30, Linden, 24 months for simple assault.

r Dennis A. Schlegel, 45, 6 Hopple Drive, Jersey Shore, 36 months, $1,000 fine, 50 hours community service for terroristic threats.

v Hilton Mayes, 51, 1151 N. Torbert Lane, Jersey Shore, five years, 90 to 180 days in the Lycoming County Prison, six months in the Pre-Release Center, 50 hours community service for DUI.

Three were approved for Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition:

r Hank M. Flook, 23, 62 Church St., Jersey Shore, for DUI.

r Carrie A. Spatzer, 34, 566 Grandview Drive, Linden, for DUI.

r Dennis L. McGill, 45, 286 E. Sylvan Ave., Avis, for DUI.
