JERSEY SHORE - Nurses' Week, which is celebrated May 6 through 12, marks a special week in which clinical providers are recognized for their knowledge, experience, and dedication to patient care.
But, the word "nurse" can mean so many different things,
At Jersey Shore Hospital, we could say we have over 70 nurses, or we could show you the following:
r 11 Licensed Practical Nurses
r 60 Registered Nurses
r 18 nurses with Diploma degrees
r 28 nurses with Associate's degrees
r 11 nurses with their Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing
r 5 nurses with other Bachelor's degrees
r 2 nurses with Master's degrees
r 48 nurses certified in Basic Life Support
r 31 nurses certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support
r 27 nurses certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support
r 33 nurses trained in Telemetry
Additionally, many nurses have other certifications to complement their education and training including CPR instructor certification, medical/surgical certification, wound care certification, certified paramedics, certified echocardiography stenographers, critical care certification, certified emergency nurse and hospice nurse certification.
At Jersey Shore Hospital, the word nurse is often utilized but often underappreciated. One week of celebration is not enough to thank nurses for the countless hours and commitment these men and women provide on a daily basis.
So, we challenge you: take a moment to thank a nurse today. You'll be glad you did.
