LOCK HAVEN-At last night's Lock Haven University Council of Trustees meeting, five university honor students spoke.
Rachael Hines and Zane Cohick spoke from the college of arts and sciences, and Brittany Masteller, Megan Newnam, and Christopher Carroll spoke from the college of education and health sciences.
Cohick has the highest grade point average of anyone in the history of Lock Haven University.
"I came here wanting to be a rock star...I learned I really liked learning," he said. "LHU inspired me to learn about anything and everything."
"My experiences at LHU have been positive....It's a lot easier to close a chapter of your life if that chapter has prepared you for the next one," Carroll said.
"I don't feel I would be following this path if it wasn't for LHU...relationships with professors are key here," Newnam said.
Masteller is having a research article published in the European Journal of Clinical Medicine.
"Any other university wouldn't give me the same experience," she said.
Hines is a triple major in Second Elementary Education, English and Spanish, with a minor in International Studies.
All but Cohick graduated last night among the 328 students.
Guy Graham, chair, was proud of them.
"You make me extremely proud to be part of this council," he said.
