Dozens stopped at DUI checkpoints
LOCK HAVEN - A total of 83 vehicles were stopped and three people were arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence during sobriety checkpoints at various locations in Clinton County this past weekend, police said.
In addition, 12 people were cited for summary traffic violations and five were given written warnings for various violations, police said.
Endangering welfare of children
MILL HALL - A Mill Hall woman is charged with endangering the welfare of her children after allegedly leaving her three children home alone for several hours, Tpr. Timothy Eiler of state police at Lamar said.
Desiree Renee Kinley, 28, of 25 Pelinore Drive, Camelot Estates, Bald Eagle Township, allegedly left her three children - ages 10, 4 and 3 - home alone from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police said.
Clinton County Children and Youth Services was also notified and investigated, police said.
Minor injuries
BELLEFONTE - Minor injuries were reported after a tractor-trailer struck a guide rail at the Bellefonte exit of Interstate 80 Friday morning, Tpr. Hockenberry of state police at Rockview said.
Michael C. Wagner, 40, of Petersburg, was driving a 1995 Peterbilt tractor-tractor trailer at 9:20 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a right curve, police said. His tractor-trailer then went up the median and into the west bound on-ramp before striking a guide rail, police said.
The tractor-trailer then spilled its load of six Dumpsters filled with used oil filters, police said.
Wagner and a passenger, Michelle Parks, 36, of Huntingdon, were taken to Mt. Nittany Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, police said. The westbound on-ramp of the Bellefonte interchange was closed for three hours, police said.
Police said their investigation continues.
DUI alleged
LOGANTON - A borough woman is charged with driving under the influence after after she was stopped for a traffic violation at the intersection of Water and East Main streets Wednesday night, Tpr. Buffone of state police at Lamar said.
Angela Hall, 44, of Loganton, was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI, pending final blood alcohol level results, police said.
Window broken
HOWARD - An unknown person broke a window on the east side of 350 Spearing St. and entered the residence between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Tpr. McCaslin of state police at Rockview said.
Upon entering, a water valve was broken and the basement flooded, police said.
Fraud charges
JERSEY SHORE - An unidentified 68-year-old female from Cummings Township received tickets on May 2 for a concert she had not purchased, Tpr. Joel R. Miles of state police at Montoursville said.

Truck entered
LAMAR - Michael R. Bryerton, 55, of Lamar, reported someone entered his 2003 Toyota RAV4, four-door pickup truck, while it was parked in the driveway of 47 Silver Drive, Porter Township, Tpr. Michael J. Flook of state police at Lamar said.
The unknown person stole two keys and approximately $2 in change from the center console between May 5 and 7, police said.

Home burglarized
RENOVO - Jeffrey Russell, 50, of Selinsgrove, reported someone entered his residence at 61 Austin Hollow Road, Leidy Township, between March 4 and May 5 and stole money, a Gerber knife, a Bushnell trail camera and a Craftsman multi-purpose saw, Tpr. David A. Kirkendall of state police at Lamar said.
Police said their investigation continues.
Knives stolen
FLEMINGTON - Scott Robb, 49, of Flemington, reported someone entered his 2001 Suzuki Vitara while it was parked at 666 Woods Ave. between April 25 and May 9, Tpr. Martin of state police at Lamar said.
The person removed box knives valued at $260 and fled the scene, police said.
DUI alleged
MILL HALL - James Patrick Dwyer, 60, of Cardinal Drive, Lock Haven, was stopped during a DUI checkpoint at Country Club Lane and Route 150, Bald Eagle Township, Friday at 11:40 p.m., Tpr. Brian Hoy of state police at Lamar said.
Upon further investigation, Dwyer was arrested on suspicion of DUI, police said.
DUI alleged
McELHATTAN - A Lock Haven man was charged with driving under the influence after a traffic stop early Saturday morning, Tpr. Buffone of state police at Lamar said.
Jeffrey Palleson, 41, was stopped for a traffic violation at the intersection of Route 220 and McElhattan Drive at 1:25 a.m., police said.
He was then taken into custody on suspicion of DUI, police said.
TV stolen
FARRANDSVILLE - An unknown person entered the People's United Methodist Church, 3024 Farrandsville Road, between Wednesday and Friday and stole a 46-inch TV, Tpr. Michael J. Flook of state police at Lamar said.

Hit-and-run
LOCK HAVEN - A witness told police a white truck, possibly a Ford, with welding equipment, backed into a 2002 Ford Focus car owned by Sara Elizabeth Stine of Mill Hall while it was parked in the rear of Hangar Nine restaurant at around 1 a.m. Saturday, city police said.
The Focus suffered minor damage to its rear bumper and trunk, police said.
Window smashed
LOCK HAVEN - An unknown person threw an orange traffic cone through a 40-by-47-inch window at 121 W. Main St. sometime overnight Friday, city police said.
The incident was reported at 9:10 a.m. Saturday. Damage is estimated at $350, police said.
Bike stolen
LOCK HAVEN - A 20-inch bicycle was reported stolen from the porch at 224 1/2 N. Henderson St. early Saturday morning, city police said.
The bike is valued at $150.
No injuries
LOCK HAVEN - No injuries were reported after a two-car crash at the intersection of Irwin Street and Bellefonte Avenue Friday at 5:44 p.m., city police said.
A 2001 Honda Odyssey, driven by Daniel K. Osei of Ashton, hit the passenger side of a 2009 Subaru Tribeca, driven by Hope A. Lucas of West Fourth Street, Lock Haven, while the Lucas vehicle was on Bellefonte Avenue heading toward Mill Hall, police said.
Harassment alleged
LOCK HAVEN - Timothy Allen Vincent Jr., 26, of 350 Herr St., was cited for harassment after he allegedly slapped a victim across the face at 326 1/2 N. Grove St. Friday at 12:45 p.m., city police said.
Unlocked vehicles entered
LOCK HAVEN - Two unlocked vehicles were entered and items were stolen recently, city police said.
One was entered sometime before 11:45 a.m. Friday and a Smith and Wesson handgun, valued at $375, was taken while it was parked along Bellefonte Avenue, police said.
The other had a purse and contents and an iPod charter, valued at $40, taken while it was parked in the 100 block of West Bald Eagle Street on Thursday, police said.
