Readell F. Welshans, 84, of 911 Railroad St., Jersey Shore, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Gatehouse.
She and her husband, Richard Welshans, celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on Nov. 19.
She was born Aug. 4, 1927 in Lock Haven, the daughter of George and Minnie Bryan Sorgen.
Readell was a 1946 graduate of Lock Haven High School and grew up in Swissdale. She is a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Rauchtown.
She enjoyed gardening, feeding her birds, and most of all, she adored her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, James (Linda) Welshans; three daughters, Janice (Ken) Welshans, Connie Welshans and Pam (Frank) Morse, all of Jersey Shore; 10 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Myers and Florence Confer, and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012 in St. James Lutheran Church, Rauchtown with Vicar Gary Shumway officiating. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
