LOCK HAVEN - It's that time of year. The end of May signals the end of high school days for hundreds of area teenagers.
With just about three weeks to go, teens are cherishing the final activities of their senior year and looking forward to senior proms, awards assemblies, class trips and the traditional graduation ceremonies.
The Express will honor area high school seniors with a "Salute to Seniors," a special section filled with photos of seniors from our area high schools - Central Mountain, Jersey Shore, Bucktail, Bellefonte, Bald Eagle Area, Sugar Valley Rural Charter, Penns Valley and Walnut Street Christian School.
The special section will be included in the Friday, June 15 edition of The Express.
Meanwhile, here's the schedule of graduation ceremonies at those schools. And, as in the past, many schools hope to hold ceremonies outside on their athletic fields, but will move them inside if weather doesn't cooperate.
- Central Mountain High School - 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at the high school football field.
- Jersey Shore Area High School - 9 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at the high school football field.
- Bucktail Area High School - 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, in the high school gymnasium.
- Bellefonte Area High School - 6 p.m. Friday, June 8 at the high school football field.
- Bald Eagle Area High School - 7 p.m. Monday, June 4, at the high school athletic field.
- Sugar Valley Rural Charter School - 7 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at the high school.
- Penns Valley High School - 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at the athletic field.
- Walnut Street Christian School - 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2, in the school auditorium.
