Elizabeth J. "Betty" Sweeley, 90, of 328 Park Ave., Lock Haven, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at Lock Haven Hospital.

She was born on July 16, 1921 in Colebrook Twp., the daughter of the late Augustus M. and Margaret Detrick Lovette.

On Dec. 26, 1945, in Lock Haven she married Richard K. Sweeley, who survives.

Betty was a 1939 graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Renovo. She first worked for Woolrich and during WWII worked for Sylvania. She retired from her employment at the Clinton County Courthouse Prothonotary's office after 23 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Gary E. Sweeley of Lock Haven; a sister, Ann Welsh of Lock Haven; a son in law, Bill McKenna of Jensen Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, Beau Warren of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Kelbey Warren of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and a great granddaughter, Lexi Warren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a daughter Barbara S. McKenna; a brother, Richard L. Lovette; and two sisters, Janet Kelley and Mary Franks.

Per Betty's wishes, there will be no visitation and a private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Enterprise through the funeral home.
