Constitutional?

May 23, 2012
ED EMEL - Bellefonte , The Express

The biggest threat to our Constitution was signed into law by President Barack Obama last New Year's Eve.

It's called the "National Defense Authorization Act." All Americans can be targeted by this Act.

The government can declare that you are an "enemy of the state."

You can be imprisoned and have no rights to Habeas Corpus (unlawfully detained). You would have no power to obtain a lawyer, have a trial or a judge. All rights are revoked under this law.

This law also empowers the president to sign executive orders for anything that he thinks can be a potential threat. He could declare Marshall Law under this Act, and also replace police departments with the U.S. military.

He could take over banks, or even your farm if necessary.

It's unlimited power. It makes me wonder, was this law enacted because the government thinks it might need to control massive crowds or certain individuals?

Does the government see upcoming events that might trigger such things like rioting and dismay among the people.

To declare an American citizen an "enemy of the state," the government doesn't have to even explain why! This is not what our Founding Fathers intended for us.

This Act gives the power of the president to sign executive orders because he believes something could be a potential threat and then deploy the military on the people. The Constitution is on fire and seems nobody is out there trying to put it out.
