WILLIAMSPORT - A Milesburg woman has pleaded guilty to stealing almost $80,000 from the PNC bank branch in Bellefonte between January 2005 and last November.

Kimberly Laird, 40, pleaded guilty in U.S. Middle District Court in Williamsport Tuesday to stealing $78,594 from the bank while she was branch manager.

According to court documents, Laird gained access to certificates of deposit accounts of seniors, opened checking accounts in the names of others and withdrew money from three revolving loan accounts she opened without permission in her father's name.

The plea agreement requires Laird to make full restitution.

The maximum sentence is 10 years, but the government has agreed to recommend the minimum under the guidelines, which is projected to be between 12 and 18 months. She will likely face sentencing this fall.
