LOCK HAVEN - A local young man is hospitalized following an apparent overdose of prescription drugs Wednesday night, city police said.
The man was transported by ambulance to the Lock Haven Hospital Emergency Room, flown by Lifeflight to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, and then transferred to Hershey Medical Center .
The hospital confirmed the victim is Robert "Bobby" Wise III, 18, of Woolrich, a senior at Central Mountain High School.
Officials at Hershey Medical Center reported Wise in critical condition Thursday late evening.
Police said they were called to the 400 block of Bellefonte Avenue at 11:08 p.m. Wednesday for a report of an unresponsive male.
Emergency medical personnel also responded.
"Based on the ongoing investigation, it is believed that misuse of prescription drugs was involved," the police department said in press release.
"Due to the nature and complexity of the investigation, at this point, we will not elaborate beyond the press release," Police Chief Skip Hocker said.
