From staff reports , The Express

LAMAR - A Mill Hall man was critically injured early Thursday morning when his motorcycle collided with an SUV on the Draketown Road in Bald Eagle Township.

Doyle D. Geyer, 49, was listed in critical condition Thursday evening at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, where he was taken by Lifeflight medical helicopter immediately following the crash.

Geyer was traveling north on Draketown Road toward Hogan Boulevard when an SUV driven by Samuel J. Montgomery, 29, of Lock Haven, turned left into a driveway in front of the motorcyle, State Police Trooper Curtis A. Confer said,

The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the SUV, shattering the door window.

The accident, which occurred at approximately 5:53 a.m. Thursday, happened in front of Condo's Welding and just north of the railroad tracks.

The area was cordoned off to traffic for several hours as a state police accident reconstruction team investigated.

It appeared neither operator saw each other until it was too late, police said.

Geyer was wearing a helmet, state police said.

Montgomery was not hurt, police said.
