Vincentia A. Dewald, 94, of Jersey Shore, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012 at her residence.
She was born Nov. 23, 1917, in Italy, the daughter of Jockomo and Susan Gennonio.
Vincentia was the wife of the late Jay W. Dewald who passed January 24, 2000.
She was a member of the Church of St. Luke and the Church Altar and Rosary Society.
Early in life she worked with her father in Lock Haven and was a seamstress for Peabody's in Williamsport, Weldon's and the Lock Haven Silk Mill.
She volunteered for the Jersey Shore Love Care Center and contributed to Children's International.
Vincentia enjoyed raising flowers and loved her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan A. Hackenberg and Mary Fuller Gephart, both of Jersey Shore; two sons, David G. Dewald of Avis and Richard W. Dewald of Jersey Shore; 17 grandchildren, 35 great, and several great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Elmer Dewald in 1984.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the Church of St. Luke, 120 Kendall Ave., Jersey Shore, with Rev. Bert Kozen celebrant.
A visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Rearick Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd. "A Life Celebration Home," 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore.
Burial will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.
Her family suggests contributions be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
