The Western Clinton County Veterans Council traveled throughout the area early Sunday, holding services and paying tribute to veterans who lie in each of the local cemeteries. At each stop, the service began with a flag ceremony, followed by a prayer for the deceased veterans. Flowers were placed on a chosen veteran’s grave, followed by a gun salute and “Taps.” Family members whose loved ones are resting in the cemeteries often visit during the annual service on Memorial Day weekend. In all, more than two dozen members of the WCCVC took part on Sunday.
