Trailer hits pole
JERSEY SHORE -Charles L. Cowher, 72, of Jersey Shore, crashed his 2003 Ford F350 on Route 880 in Limestone Township Saturday at 7:46 p.m., Tpr. Johnathan Buynak of the Pennsylvania State Police at Montoursville said. Cowher was driving north and towing a loaded boat trailer when the trailer detached and struck a telephone pole and continued on about 60 feet to crash into a tree, police said. Cowher and his passenger, Amy Cowher, 72, of Jersey Shore, were not hurt in the accident.
Garbage truck crash
LOCK HAVEN - Robert Germello of Lock Haven crashed a 1995 International garbage truck in Marys Alley at 308 E. Church Street Wednesday at 5:58 a.m., city police said. Germello was backing the truck west in the alley and toward a dumpster when the truck struck and broke a utility pole, police said. City police barricaded a section of the alley until the utility company arrived to repair the damage.
Minor injuries
JERSEY SHORE - Michael D. Snyder, 55, of Jersey Shore, suffered minor injuries in a motorcycle crash Sunday at 12:51 p..m. on the Quenshukeny Road in Anthony Township, Tpr. Jonathan Houseknecht of the Pennsylvania State Police in Montoursville said.
Snyder was riding north when the front tire of his 1977 Kawasaki hit a crack or hole in the road, police said. Snyder was thrown from the bike and was taken to Jersey Shore Hospital for treatment, police said. He was wearing a helmet, police said.
Power cords cut
JERSEY SHORE - Several power cords were cut in an act of vandalism and theft in Piatt Township between May 13 and 18, Tpr. Paul McGee of the Pennsylvania State Police in Montoursville said. The acts occurred near campers located at the Canal Lane River Lots and owned by Michael Hess of Picture Rocks, William Fink of Linden, Mark Hess of Williamsport and Dan Zell of Jersey Shore, police said.
Harassment
JERSEY SHORE - John Eric Hedges, 23, of Jersey Shore, was cited for an episode that occurred Sunday at 9700 Block North Route 220 Highway in Piatt Township, Tpr. Walker of the Pennsylvania State Police at Montoursville said. Hedges grabbed the 23-year-old female victim and dragged her up a gravel driveway, causing injury to her chest and stomach, police said.
One-vehicle crash
BELLEFONTE-Worth A. Rawson, 26, of Bellefonte, was traveling south on T-375 on May 22 and he failed to negotiate a left-hand turn; he traveled off the right edge of the roadway into an embankment, state police at Rockview said. Rawson's 2011 Subaru Imprezza then went across the roadway as it rolled over, resting east in the Northbound lane, police said. He was not injured and wore his seatbelt, but his car was towed, police said. He was charged, police said.
Burglary
DUNNSTOWN -A burglary occurred Tuesday morning or afternoon at 27 Linnet Lane, Lock Haven, Woodward Township, police said.
Somebody entered through an open window and removed $150 in cash from the residence, police said.
Man ejected from vehicle in crash
SPRING MILLS-Mark A. Fisher, 22, of Altoona, was traveling west on SR 45 and Brian L. Yoder, 25, of Lewisburg, was driving east in the westbound lane, Fisher's lane of travel on May 27, state police at Rockview said. As both vehicles approached each other, Fisher traveled into the eastbound lane to avoid colliding with Yoder's 1989 Acura Legend, but Yoder also went into the eastbound lane, which resulted in a head-on collision between them, police said. After impact Fisher was ejected from his 2005 Ford F150 through the passenger side window, and was flown via Life Link to Geisinger Medical Center for a major leg injury, police said. Yoder was taken via ambulance to Mt. Nittany Hospital for minor injuries, police said. Both lanes of travel were shut down for about 45 minutes, police said. The Millheim Fire Department/Fire Police, Rebersburg Fire Department, Life Link Helicopter, Mt. Nittany Paramedics, Penns Valley EMS, and Pleasant Gap EMS assisted at the scene, police said.
Yoder was charged for careless driving, police said.
Hit and run
BLANCHARD-An unknown vehicle struck a carport at 152 Primrose Lane and the operator failed to notify the property owner on May 28, state police at Rockview said. Anyone with information is asked to contact that station at (814) 355-7545.
Underage drinking
BLANCHARD-Tellisa Johnson, 18, of Blanchard, was found to have been drinking when she was stopped for a traffic violation at Beach Street on May 26; she was charged with underage consumption, state police at Rockview said.
Theft at Substation
SPRING MILLS-Someone cut a chain link fence to gain access to the Spring Mills Substation, West Penn Power, on Penns Valley Road between May 18 and May 23, state police at Rockview said. Once inside, they cut the copper ground wires to the substation, and stole $150 in one-gauge copper wire and damaged the chain link fence, with damages totaling $300, police said. Possible DUI
BELLEFONTE-Kelly Jo Wolfe, 45, of Bellefonte, was found to be drinking when stopped for an equipment violation on SR 144 on May 26, state police at Rockview said. Charges are pending for DUI, police said.
