I do not know the gentleman who teaches scuba diving on the Lockport side of the Veterans Bridge. In fact, I believe through personal observation he is very safety orientated.
My complaint, which I addressed at a recent Woodward Township meeting, is regarding the "No Tresspassing" sign posted. How is it that a business can operate and swim at the posted area and not the public? I was told it is due to libality. Hogwash!
If the business owner signed a contract with the township or whatever agreement they have, the public should have the same option. Perhaps a waiver?
The "No Tresspassing" sign should be taken down and those who swam there before should be allowed to do so again. Post a sign, "Swim and Dive at Your Own Risk" instead.
