Robert Lugg

Robert Lugg, an Earlham College senior and son of Carol and Robert Lugg of Lock Haven, received the Wendell Stanley Scholar Athlete Award and the Anna Eves Award during Earlham's Awards Convocation on April 18 in Goddard Auditorium.

This award was established to honor one of the College's most distinguished alumni and an outstanding student athlete. Wendell Stanley, class of 1926, received an Earlham Honorary Science degree in 1938 and a Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1946. The award is given to seniors who have combined significant participation in intercollegiate athletics with an unusually high level of academic achievement. Athletes are selected by the director of athletics in consultation with coaches and the dean of student development.

Susanne R. Winkelman of Jersey Shore, daughter of Charles and Laura Winkelman of Jersey Shore and a 2008 graduate of Jersey Shore Area Senior High School, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Bucknell University on May 20.

Wilkes University graduates on May 19, include Linda Lutz of Bellefonte, Meredith Batterson of Mill Hall, Carla Lodek of Mill Hall, Beth Spotts of McElhattan, Benjamin Enders of Jersey Shore and Amber Hummer of Jersey Shore.

Morgan E. Rich

Morgan Elizabeth Rich, daughter of Jeff and Teena Rich of Flemington, received her Associate of Applied Science degree from Pennsylvania College of Technology on May 12. Her major is in nursing.

Morgan is a 2006 graduate of Central Mountain High School. She has accepted a position at Lock Haven Hospital.

Denae Pearsall

Denae Pearsall of Lock Haven recieved a 4.0 grade-point average for the Spring 2012 academic year.

She is in the Residential Construction Management Curriculum at the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Amy Jo Peasley

Amy Jo Peasley, daughter of Aldas and Stacey Shady of Mill Hall, and George Peasley Jr. of Mill Hall, has graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine. Commencement was held at the Morgantown Event Center on May 13, 2012.

Amy was a recipient of the Mountaineer Medical Scholarship and also earned the American Medical Women's Association Glasgow-Rubin Certificate in recognition of fourth year female students demonstrating overall academic excellence.

Amy is a 2003 graduate of Central Mountain High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Lycoming College in 2007.

Amy will entering residency in Pediatrics at The Ohio State University's Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, in June.

Melanie K. Judy

Melanie Kay Judy, of Woolrich, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Juniata College on May 12. Judy is a 2007 graduate of Central Mountain High School and daughter of Gordon and Jane Judy.

Lauren Bottorf

Lauren Marie Bottorf of Lock Haven graduated from Lycoming College on May 6, 2012. Lauren is a dual major in both Chemistry and Biology. She was a tutor and teaching assistant for both departments as well. She has maintained dean's list status

She has accepted admission to Miami University of Ohio's Ph.D. program beginning this fall.

Brooke Long

Brooke Long of Lock Haven, a sophomore art major, is featured in Lycoming College's literary magazine, "Tributary," with her mixed media piece "Untitled."

"Tributary" features student writing and photography and gives creative writing majors the experience of performing hands-on editorial work.
