Dale R. Shoemaker, 81, of 58 Market St., Lock Haven, died May 31, 2012 at home.
He was born on March 2, 1931 in Lock Haven to the late Ralph A. Shoemaker and Catherine E. Ruhl.
He graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1949.
Dale was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He worked for Piper and retired from Champion in 1993.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Dunnstown Fire Co. and the Lock Haven First Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Marian L. Caskey Shoemaker, whom he married in 1955; his son, Richard D. (Cathy) Shoemaker of Castanea; his daughters Patty J. (George) Weaver of Rote, Amy C. (Jim) Svinth of Ladera Ranch, Calif., and step-daughter Denice A. (Joe) Kramer of Lock Haven; three sisters, Nancy Habasavich of East End, Lois Rupert of Dunnstown and Helen Meredith of Livermoore, Calif; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph and sisters, Frances, Shirley and Janet.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be at the Dunnstown Cemetery.
