Two years ago, we opened our home to our first Fresh Air child. She was 9 years-old and lived in Brooklyn, N.Y.
We decided to take her for a week our first time. What if she was bad? What if she cried? What if she hated it here? We were worried. However, by the end of our first night, we knew we would be just fine. That week flew by and the only crying that occurred was when we told each other goodbye. Last summer, she came to visit for an entire month. She has become part of our family. We are all excited to see her again this summer! It has been a blessing to my entire family, as I know it has been to hers.
Don't hesitate to get involved with Fresh Air. The organizition is there to help you out with the whole process.
