Two types of people: Law abiding and those who are not

June 7, 2012
By Michael Salisbury , The Express

I would like to respectfully respond to Mr. Kleinle's concern set forth in Wednesday's edition of "Express Yourself."

The comment that troubles him was made while on-scene and was an attempt to provide the public with initial information of a death investigation without giving any specifics prior to the decedent's family receiving official notification of the death. The response to Scott Johnson's questions were robotic and were simply referencing the description of the scene as it appeared in my field notes. The description of the basis for this investigation was meant to be inclusive, not exclusive. Under different circumstances, my comment may have referred to "a young, black female" if the circumstances warranted it.

Clinton County law enforcement investigates ALL suspicious or criminal situations without hesitation or reservation and will continue to do so.

To the extent that any comment made at the time of the initial interview in this matter were taken out of context, I apologize.

My world is made up of only two kinds of people: Those who are law-abiding and those who are not.
