Vacation Bible schools in our region begin next week, with several churches offering fun and education for children on a variety of themes.
Kids ages 3 to 13 are invited to go "Fishin' on a Mission With Jesus" at Lamar United Methodist Church, from 6 to 8:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. Nonperishable food and paper towels will be collected for Sojourner Truth Ministries at Williamsport. Food suggestions are: spaghetti, rice, cereal, cans of string beans, non-dairy creamer, sugar, and salt and pepper in shakers for the tables. The items may be brought in any time during the week. Kids will step back in time and participate in a Bible-times marketplace where they will make Bible-times crafts, witness demonstrations, sing songs, play teamwork-building games, dig into Bible-times snacks and visit Jesus' mom, Mary.
