Rodney Allen Alters

June 11, 2012
The Express

You fought a good fight but a win on earth was not to be... God reached down and took your hand and whispered "It's time to come home to me."

Rod, 48, husband, dad, son, brother to Kim, uncle to some and friend to many... was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on June 2012, after a brave battle with brain cancer.

He was born Feb. 11, 1964 in Bellefonte, the son of Dale and the late Sandra (Gayle) Alters.

Rodney Allen Alters

On June 18, 1988, Rod and his high school sweetheart, Robin Walters, were married. They are originally from Bellefonte but reside in Loganton along with their children, Taylor (20), Alexis (18) and Hunter (15).

If asked, some would say Rod was a quiet man, to his family a good provider, his children their hero, to his friends loyal. Rod was an avid deer hunter, NASCAR fan, and Steelers fan. In the early '90s Rod enjoyed racing 4 cycle purestock at Clinton County Speedway. He enjoyed going to NASCAR races with his friends Dave Richards and Ron Bennett and helping with butcherings every winter with his good friend, Marlin Peters.

Even though we feel Rod was taken before we expected, we were willing to let him go. We will forever hold close the memories that we have of him, and we have peace knowing that he received complete healing. You will be forever loved and deeply missed.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard, at 10 a.m. with the Pastor Timothy Imes officiating. Visitation will be Monday, June 11, 2012 at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Burial will be at the Schencks Cemetery.

Online condolences may be made at Kader-Neff.com.
