Sisters receive Masters degrees

Sarah Lacy, left, and her sister Valerie were each awarded a Masters Degree at graduation ceremonies this spring. They are the daughters of Brad and Cathy Lacy of Lock Haven.

Sarah received a Master of Arts in Community Counseling with a concentration in children and adolescent therapy from Slippery Rock University. She completed a year-long internship at Butler Health System's Family Services and has accepted a position with them. Sarah graduated from Central Mountain High School in 2005 and earned a BA from Slippery Rock in 2009.

Valerie earned a Master of Education in Reading and has earned a reading specialist certification from James Madison University. She is employed as a fifth grade teacher at WW Robinson Elementary School in Shenandoah County, Va. Valerie graduated from Central Mountain High School in 2002 and earned degrees in elementary education and dance from Slippery Rock University in 2007.
