The Express

Kevin Henry

While most college students have traded rigorous academic work for relaxing on the beach, McElhattan resident Kevin Henry will give up summer vacation to remain on campus at Saint Joseph's University as a member of the Summer Scholars Program.

Research topics range from local and national issues in the sciences, business, education and history to extended analysis of literature and fine arts.

Henry, a interdisciplinary health services major, will work with Sally Kuykendall, Ph.D. on their topic, " Partnering with Parents."

Lycoming College

The following students gradued from Lycoming College on May 6.

- Lauren Bottorf of Lock Haven, cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and biology.

- David Sampsell of Lock haven, magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry.

- Megan Frank of Jersey Shore, cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in communications.

- Jesse Shade of Woolrich, Bachelor of Arts in theatre.

Michael DeGarmo

Michael DeGarmo of Bellefonte, a freshman Psychology major, has been named to the dean's list for the Spring 2012 semester at York College of Pennsylvania.

Paul Eberhart

Paul H. Eberhart of Jersey Shore was among graduates awarded master's and doctorate of physsical therapy degrees by the University of Scranton at ceremonies May 26.

Eberhart received a doctor of physical therapy degree from Jesuit Universitty's College of Graduate and Continuing Education.

Messiah College

Students who graduated from Messiah College on May 12 include:

- Caleb Liddick of Lock Haven, magna cum laude with a degree in music education.

- Ellamae Heisey of Jersey Shore, with a degree in health and exercise science.

- Tyler Kanouff of Linden, with a degree in criminal justice.

Students were named to the dean's list for the 2012 spring semester at Messiah College included Ericka Conklin of Lock Haven, a junior majoring in theatre, and Lauren Dabiero of Bellefonte, a sophomore majoring in Christian ministries.

Dean's list

Two area residents have been named to the dean's list at Bucknell University for the spring semester. They are:

- Cody L. Johnson of Loganton, son of Larry and Joan Johnson of Loganton and a 2009 graduate of Central Mountain High School.

- Susanne R. Winkelman of Jersey Shore, daughter of Charles and Laura Winkelman of Jersey Shore and a 2008 graduate of Jersey Shore Area Senior High School.

Tyler M. Kline

Tyler M. Kline, son of Bud and Darliss Kline of Jersey Shore, grauated with a BSE in Technology from Millersville University on May 12, 2012.

Matthew Shank

Matthew Shank of Flemington, a sophomore at Elizabethtown College, performed in a theatrical production on campus. "Pirates of Penzance," a Gilbert and Sullivan comedic operetta, took the stage at Leffler Chapel and Performance Center, Sunday, May 6.

Newport Business

Kelly Cummings of Linden and Shandel Starr of Jersey Shore were named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Newport business Institute in Williamsport.

Robert Watson Jr.

Robert Watson Jr. of Jersey Shore received a bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology during recent graduation exersises. He is the son of Jill and Robert Watson of Jersey Shore and a 2008 gradutae of Jersey Shore Area High School.
