LOCK HAVEN-Allison Probst is helping the Central Mountain High School Girls' Tennis Team organize this year's summer tennis camp as her graduation project.

Probst, 16, is excited for the camp to begin, going from July 9 to July 11, at Central Mountain High School's tennis courts.

She's created and mailed sponsor letters to local businesses. At camp, she'll help the kids with tennis and various activities alongside CMHS tennis coaches Wert and Miller.

Any kid, girl or boy, from 13 to 18 is welcome-no experience in tennis necessary. By the end of camp, though, they should be able to play a good game of tennis-or at least know the basics.

The first session is from 8 to 10 a.m. and is open for campers ages eight to 12. The second session is from 10 a.m. to noon, open for campers ages 13 to 18.

Campers will have three great days of skill building and playing games-plus, they'll get a camp t-shirt.

Probst wanted to help with the camp since she joined the tennis team last year.

Tennis is more than just a fun game; it teaches good character, too, she said.

"You learn how to be a good sport, whether you win or lose. It's also fun to be on a team-and it's good exercise," Probst said.

She graduates in 2013 and wants to teach mathematics at either the high school or college level.

The cost of the camp is $35, as long as payment is received by June 30; otherwise, it's $40 after that date.

To pre-register, make checks payable to the Keystone Central Foundation and mail them to Allison Probst, 338 Church Road, Lock Haven, Pa. 17745.

Anyone who would like to donate to help cover the camp's costs, send checks to Keystone Central Foundation, P.O. Box 568 Lock Haven, Pa. 17745.
