William "Bill" J. Klein Jr., 83, of Mill Hall, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Father's Day, June 17, 2012, in the Extended Care Facility at Lock Haven Hospital. After spending the day with family, including his three children, Debbie, Richard and Michael, he then rejoined his son, William M. Klein and daughter, Karen A. Marr, who preceded him in death.
He was born Dec. 6, 1928 in Syracuse, N.Y., to the late William and Charlotte Klein. He married Rosemary and during their 60-plus years of marriage, they raised five children, 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Bill honorably served in World War II, spending time in Germany. He later served in the Korean War. Following his discharge from the service, he pursued a career for the railroad, where he spent 46 years. Over this time, he worked for New York Central, Penn Central and Conrail railroads, where he was admired and respected by many.

After retiring, he enjoyed spending time outside and visiting with friends and family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Rosemary; siblings, Ken and Marion Klein of Syracuse, N.Y., John and Dorothy Klein, of Waterloo, N.Y., Dick and Linda Klein of Perry, N.Y., Grace and Tony French of Waterloo, NY, and Charlotte and Bob Lawton of Pulaski, N.Y.
He is also survived by his children, Debbie Weaver of Loganton, Richard and Michelle Klein of La Grange, Ky. and Michael and Kelly Klein of Lock Haven.
Two of his sisters, Joan and Cathy Klein, preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 8 p.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington with Deacon Chip Young officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 p.m. until the time of the service.
