LOCK HAVEN - Lock Haven University students learned how to make a difference in the lives of many individuals this spring semester. Dr. Marlene Jensen's Internet Marketing class created webpages to showcase LHU students making a difference.

Local students who were involved in the marketing project were:

- Qwynn Dyroff of Jersey Shore, who worked with Chris Smith and Alejandro Noguera Olivar to create a page about LHU students working with A.C.E.S. North America. This Williamsport based organization travels to the Dominican Republic each year to provide the local children with an education.

- Tara Davidson of Jersey Shore, who worked with Farzana Naurin and Kyle Hagerty to create a page about LHU students working with children with disabilities. The students with disabilities ranged from grades K-12 and attended Keystone Central School District schools.

- Abram Williams of Antes Fort, who worked with Chris Martines, Brendan Reed, and Mike D'aprile to create a page about LHU students working with Air Parts of Lock Haven. Together the students worked to create Air Parts a more environmentally friendly business.

Dr. Marlene Jensen, Assistant Professor Marketing and Entrepreneurship, started this as a project for her Internet Marketing students. According to Dr. Jensen, "LHU's internet marketing students were inspired by the activities of the students they interviewed. And they were delighted their marketing skills could be used to promote such great activities!"

One of the "making a difference" web pages showcases students working on an Anti- Bullying campaign within the community. Other sites focus on involvement in an art and science program, a program working with disabled children, and even water quality issues. Working on their webpage designs, Dr. Jensen's students learned more about student involvement and developed their interviewing and web skills.
