David George Karichner, 72, of 450 E. Guardlock Drive, Lock Haven, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on July 3, 1939 in Lock Haven, the son of the late George and Fern Yufer Karichner.
Dave was a 1957 graduate of Lock Haven High School and attended Lock Haven University.

On Aug. 2, 1980 at Laurel Run United Methodist Church he married the former Cynthia Heimer, who survives in Lock Haven.
He was employed at American Color & Chemical before working at the Hammermill International Paper Company for 35 years before his retirement. After his retirement from Hammermill he worked as a driver for the Clinton County Correctional Institute.
Dave was a member of the Lock Haven Elks. He enjoyed playing softball and volleyball. He loved Penn State football and tailgating at Beaver Stadium for their home games.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Shelly (Kevin) Hughes and Debra (Reese) Flurie, both of Marysville; two step-daughters, Deena (Bryan) Conklin of Lock Haven and Nikki (Jesse) Simcox of Elkland, and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, June 22, 2012, from noon until 2 p.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
