RECIPES NEEDED

The Friendship Community Library in Beech Creek is hoping to put together a community book of recipes, home remedies and short stories or memories. The books will then be sold as a fundraiser.

Participation is needed to make this idea a success. The recipes are needed before July 14. Please contact Doug Stoner to get a submission form. Doug can be reached by calling 962-2855 or by email to dstoner@chilitech.net.

SUMMER FESTIVAL

Liberty Baptist Church will be having a festival on July 14 at the church grounds in Blanchard. The festival will run from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be games, food (hot sausages, hot dogs, sloppy joes, french fries) and old-fashioned cake walks. Game tickets are 12 tickets for $5. A bounce house will also be there for the kids to enjoy.

The public is invited to this family fun event. If it rains, the festival will be moved indoors to the church gym. For more information call Jamie Orr at 962-2096 or email to jloor4@centurylink.net.

TIDBITS

I apologize for the shortness of Howard Happenings this week. I haven't been informed of much news or local happenings.

We are enjoying a fun week of Vacation Bible School so I haven't had much extra time this week for other interests. I promise to have more news next week.
