The Express

THANK YOU to the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church's Mission Committee for a sing-along and delicious picnic served to the residents of Haven Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing this past weekend. Your generosity and kindness are greatly aprreciated.

- Staff and residents of Haven Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing

A very special THANK YOU to the following businesses who helped make the annual Avis Fire Company carnival a huge success by donating prizes for bingo: Susquehanna Transit, Dairy Queen, ACE Hardware, Natalie's Gifts, Janey's Restaurant, Venture Inn, Subway, Jean Bowers Beauty Shop, Aungst's Cuts and Golden Crust Pizza.

Also thank you to all the wonderful people in the Avis area who donated money for the Avis Fire Company at the Boot fundraiser on Community Day.

- Avis Fire Police Capt. Sharon Altemier

THANKS to Terry and Carmen Banfill for their donation of two American flags, which they presented in memory of Ray Kodish and Lucy McLaughlin at the Smoked Country Jam Bluegrass Festival last weekend. One flag will fly over the stage at Quiet Oaks Campground, where the festival is held each year. The other flag was presented to our family. It will wave proudly from our front porch on Coudersport Pike!! Terry and Carmen deserve a huge round of APPLAUSE for their generosity and patriotism. We salute them!!

- Eleanor Kodish and family

Centre County Library and Historical Museum would like to THANK Jamie Yurick. Jamie noticed the brick wall in the children's garden was badly in need of repair. He took it upon himself as a service project to bring together resources, people and materials from the area to tear down the crumbling wall and recycle the brinks into a new sturdy wall that will serve us well for a long time to come. Sponsors for this project include: Beavertown Block, Bellefonte Borough, Centre Concrete, Centre Hall Masonry, Seven Mountains Central Labor Council, Wetzler Funeral Services, Inc. and all work time donated by the AFL-CIO. The world needs more people like Jamie. The Centre County Library sincerely thanks all of the folks who came together to make this project possible.

YOU HAVE THE POWER
