WILLIAMSPORT - Horizon Federal Credit Union announces its 2012 scholarship recipients.

The annual scholarship program rewards the writing talent and academic endeavors of credit union members who are graduating from high school and entering four-year or two-year undergraduate degrees or vocational studies.

"We are delighted to support these talented individuals in achieving their educational goals," said Traci Donahue, CEO of Horizon. "Giving back to our young members through our credit union scholarship is just one example of Horizon FCU's 'People helping people' philosophy."

The scholarship program is one of the many ways the credit union supports its members with financial education programs and resources aimed at helping them achieve a successful financial future.

"We have seen impressive academic achievements in all of those who have entered our scholarship competition since its inception. It is refreshing to see those who are eager to continue their educations and to reach high," said Donahue.

Horizon FCU is a not-for-profit credit union with locations in both Williamsport and Lock Haven. It has been serving the communities in and around these municipalities for more than 55 years.

Since March 2011 anyone who resides, works or attends church in Lycoming or Clinton County may bank at Horizon.

Horizon is a $63 million credit union, serving more than 10,000 members.
