William Clair "Bill" Rupert, 62, of Fulmer's Personal Care Home, Lock Haven, died June 24, 2012 at the Lock Haven Hospital Emergency Room.
He was born Sept. 6, 1949 in Lock Haven to the late Russell Edward and Mary Rosella Waite Rupert.
Bill was employed as a dispatcher for the Old Lock Haven Taxi and as a carrier for the Lock Haven Express.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and watching football, especially the Super Bowl and the parties at his niece Kelly's home. He also enjoyed spending time with his family on holidays and special occasions. In his younger years, Bill enjoyed playing guitar and yodeling.
Early in his life, Bill was homebound and later attended the Castanea School for the handicapped. Later, he attended the Johnstown Rehabilitation School where he earned a degree in small engine repair.
He is survived by one sister, Linda Crawford of Lock Haven; three nieces, Kelly (John) Worden and their daughter, Hannah, of Lock Haven, Kimberly (Chris) Barzona and Brandon, Christy, Seth and Kayla of Lock Haven, and Kathryn (Jeff) Heivly, Jason and Kaila of Lock Haven.
He is also survived by a nephew, Joseph (Jenn) Crawford, and Josie and Jack of Loganton; an aunt, Anna Mae DeHaas of Blanchard; and numerous cousins.
Bill was preceded in death by a nephew, William "Bill" Crawford.
Out of respect for Bill's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Interment will be at Hayes-Fearon Cemetery in Beech Creek.
Memorial contributions may be made to the March of Dimes through the funeral home.
Bill's family wishes to give a special thanks to the Community Nursing Service and Fulmer's Personal Care Home for the care they provided him.
