Driver spills water, crashes

LAMAR -Crystal D. Stiver, 20, of Lock Haven, was driving on Route 64 Monday, when she crashed into another vehicle after looking away from the road because she spilled water in her vehicle, state police at Lamar said. Randal S. Oman, 51, of Bloomsburg, had stopped for a red light on Route 64 at the intersection of Interstate 80 at exit 173 when Stiver's 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt crashed into the rear of his 1996 Buick Century, police said. After impact, Stiver's car stopped facing north in the left turn lane of Route 64; Oman's Buick came to rest facing north along the northbound berm of the road, police said. Neither driver reported any injuries at the scene, but both vehicles were towed, police said.

Car engulfed in flames

BELLEFONTE-When Thomas L. Novosel, 25, of Bellefonte, was driving Tuesday on the Interstate 99 southbound ramp at Exit 178, he crashed his vehicle and it caught fire, state police at Rockview said.Novosel took his eyes off the road and lost control of his 2005 Subaru Outback, and struck the concrete jersey barriers with its left front end and spun counter-clockwise to rest on the ramp, police said. The Subaru then caught fire and became fully engulfed by flames, police said. Novosel was injured and was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment by Bellefonte EMS; he had worn his seatbelt, police said. The roadway was blocked and shut down for about an hour; Bellefonte Undine VFD and Bellefonte Logan VFD responded and the fire was put out, though the vehicle was heavily damaged, police said. The concrete barrier was knocked over and PennDOT was notified for repairs, police said. Novosel was cited for careless driving, police said.

Firecracker explodes against house

LOCK HAVEN-Someone exploded a large firecracker against the foundation of the residence at 348 Shirk Hollow Road Monday, then fled the scene, Woodward Twp. police said.

Firecracker explodes mailbox

CASTANEA-Someone blew up part of a mailbox with a firecracker Monday at 876 Youngdale Road, the home of Dawn Jean Courter, state police at Lamar said. The unknown actor arrived at the victim's residence and threw a firework in Courter's mailbox, which blew off the mailbox door and its rear; the actor then fled the scene, police said.

Bricks smash car windows

LOCK HAVEN-Someone threw bricks through car windshields at 25 and 343 E. Bald Eagle St. overnight Tuesday, city police said.

Thrown rocks smash windows

LOCK HAVEN-Someone smashed two windows at 135 and 501 E. Bald Eagle St. by throwing rocks early Wednesday morning, city police said.

Another vehicle scratched

LOCK HAVEN-A 2000 Mitsubishi was scratched Monday night on the 600 block of East Main Street, city police said.

Wallet stolen from car

BEECH CREEK-Someone stole a Lock Haven man's wallet June 22, state police at Lamar said. Trevor Schenk, 18, had parked his car on Mill Street, and his wallet was stolen out of his vehicle, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Lamar at (570) 726-6000.

Money allegedly stolen from wallet

LOCK HAVEN-Two Lock Haven teenagers allegedly stole $700 from the wallets of two other residents sometime between May 9 and June 19, state police at Lamar said. The suspects are 17 and 16 years old; one of the alleged victims is 67 years old, police said.

Physical altercation

LAMAR-A 64-year-old Mill Hall man had a verbal argument with a 64-year-old Mill Hall woman which escalated into a physical altercation where the man made physical contact with the woman Monday, state police at Lamar said.

Disorderly conduct

RENOVO-Chad Derek Brooks, 27, tried to engage residents at 128 12th St. in a fight as he stood on the sidewalk, beat his chest and yelled loudly at them Tuesday, state police at Lamar said.

Drug possession alleged

CASTANEA-Justin Wayne Rishel, 25, of Lock Haven, was allegedly found with drug paraphernalia Tuesday by Clinton County Probation at 7 W. Brown St., state police at Lamar said. Charges will be filed, police said.
