Local family seriously injured

TOWANDA-A local family on their way to Towanda were seriously injured in a crash Sunday. Zane and Krista Renzo and their daughter Gianna went to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Krista and Gianna were reported in serious condition by hospital staff last night. Zane was treated and released. No more details were available by press time.

Retail theft

MILL HALL - Thomas Vincent Walsh, 44, of Hillside Avenue, Williamsport, was cited for retail theft Monday at 12:55 a.m. at Wal-Mart Super Center, 167 Hogan Blvd., Bald Eagle Township, Tpr. Brian Hoy of the Pennsylvania State Police at Lamar said. Police said Walsh stole a 47-inch LCD television valued at $698 from Wal Mart, and ran from the entrance to the vicinity of his truck. Unknown to Walsh, state police were at the truck waiting due to a passing motorist making a complaint about Walsh's driving. When Walsh saw police standing there, he threw the television down and pretended he wasn't involved in any theft. Police didn't buy the act, and took him into custody.

Drunk driving

MILL HALL - Mitcheal James Kasner, 22, of Second Street, Lock Haven was arrested for driving while intoxicated Sunday at 12:05 a.m. on Hogan Boulevard in Bald Eagle Township. Tpr. Brian Hoy said he stopped Kasner for an equipment violation and found him to be under the influence of alcohol. Charges are pending the results of a blood test.

Drunk driving

DUNNSTOWN - Scott David Wain, 39, of Lock Haven was arrested for driving while intoxicated Sunday at 11:25 p.m. in a parking lot in Woodward Township, Tpr. Tim Wright of the Pennsylvania State Police at Lamar said. Police said somebody reported a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Pizza House and suspected the driver of being under the influence of alcohol.

Chevy truck hits PennDOT truck

LOCK HAVEN-Jennifer Esposito of Lock Haven crashed her vehicle on June 28, Woodward Twp. police said. She was driving east on Ciderpress Road when she lost control of her Chevrolet truck and collided with a parked Game Commission truck owned by PennDOT, police said. Both vehicles were towed; there were no injuries, police said.

Cash, iPod stolen from car

LOCK HAVEN-Someone allegedly stole an iPod and cash from a vehicle at 615 E. Bald Eagle St. between June 30 and July 1, city police said.

Rocking chair stolen

LOCK HAVEN-Someone allegedly stole a black rocking chair from the front porch of 336 W. Church St. on June 28, city police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact LHPD.

LH man with DUI charges allegedly flees accident scene

LOCK HAVEN-Michael A. Caruso of East Church Street fled the scene of an accident Monday after leaving a trail of things his vehicle struck, city police said. Caruso allegedly told a witness he was scheduled to appear in court the next day for sentencing on previous DUI charges, police said. Caruso was driving west on Bellefonte Avenue when he hit a curb, went up on the sidewalk, struck a sign post and broke it from its base; then, he hit a 55-gallon metal trash can, caused damage to a light globe and a small tree, at Bellefonte Avenue near First Street, police said. Caruso did not stop at the crash scene, but drove to Commerce Street and parked in the small lot with two flat tires, and fled the scene, police said. He was located the same day and identified, and admitted to the above, police said. He was charged with Title 75, sec. 3745, accidents involving damage to unattended vehicles on property, police said.
