The Bald Eagle Area High School Band will be marching in the Independence Day Parade in Washington D.C. tomorrow. The band will also participate in the wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery where two band members - Molly Gilbert and Luke Besong - will place a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier. The band has been fundraising since last year to finance the trip and is the only high school band from Pennsyvlania participating in the parade. Band director Kellie Long said she submitted an application and a video almost two years ago and the band has been practicing ever since. The band also marched in the New York City Veteran's Day Parade in 2009.
