Sgt. Terry Banfill gets a flag
Normally, it’s Sgt.Terry Banfill presenting flags to local organizations, businesses and residents to spread patriotism and honor in serving his country. This time, Terry was on the receiving end, presented with a Native Amearican POW-MIA flag by U.S. Navy Commander Bradley E. Smith. The presentation was made at the 27th Sentimental Journey Fly-In banquet, at which Smith was the guest speaker. Smith was shot down over North Vietnam of March 25, 1966 while on his 80th mission. He was a prisoner of war from that date until his release on Feb. 13, 1973. Banfill presented and retired the colors at the banquet.
